My name is Wester-the most handsome dog ever-that’s what my mommy says. I’m a purebred AKC Golden Retriever, born in Rockwall, Texas, and I just turned seven years old on April 5th, although I still behave like I’m one years old.
Let me tell you how I ended up in Austin, TX. My sister had been asking my parents for a dog since she was nine years old. Convincing my mom was the hardest part. After four years of asking and convincing, she finally agreed, and that’s when I was adopted at just two months old.
I had to leave my brothers, sisters, and of course my birth parents, and begin a brand-new journey with my new family. My sister took such good care of me. She played with me, trained me, and honestly, she was a really great trainer. Even now, she follows all the rules very strictly… which is exactly why she never shares her food with me. I’m not very happy about that, but I love her so much.
I absolutely love humans and get more excited around them than other dogs, mostly because they give me lots of attention. I’m also a bit of a local celebrity, as my story was featured in a neighborhood Avery Ranch Magazine when I was younger. Whenever I go for walks, I receive plenty of compliments, which is no surprise considering my good looks. Stick around to learn more about my fabulous life.

That’s why they still love carrying things in their mouths today."
